Ghosts vs. Spirits
Just
imagine!!! You are alone at home one day. Suddenly you hear sounds of things
moving. You get curious to know what is making the sound. You walk to the
place. Scared…. Curious…. Silent…. And you see things moving on they’re own. Creepy isn't it? Well that would probably make you think that there’s a ghost in there. But what if it’s not exactly a ghost? What if it’s a spirit? Now you
will definitely say that there is no difference between a ghost and a spirit.
Is it?
Ghosts
Ghosts are
souls of dead people who tend to remain on earth for particular reasons. Ghosts
are generally believed to remain in places and haunt them. That particular
place had some association with person when he/she was alive. Ghosts have been
experienced in the form of white light, through sounds, shadows and through
objects. Ghosts basically are dead people who have not crossed the line between
real world and afterlife. Personal grudges, murder, crave for things that they couldn't achieve when they were alive, suicide and lack eternal peace are some
of the reasons that makes dead people turn into ghosts. Ghosts are imagined to
carry a negative image and are considered to haunt by different means.
Spirits
Spirits are
also souls of dead people who have crossed the line of mid world and have
gained eternal peace. Spirits are known to be the good ones. Spirits can visit
the real world just like ghosts. Spirits who visit people usually can be
relatives or friends. They cause no harm to their loved ones. Spirits are also
seen in dreams. It is believed by some that spirits visit their loved ones to
give them an instinct that something bad is going to happen. Hence they are
referred to as guardians or guides. Existence of spirits is not proved totally
but many religions do believe in spiritual activities.
What makes Spirits different from ghosts?
All spirits
are ghosts but that doesn’t make the definition of both the same. Spirits are
dead people but ghosts on the other hand are spirits which have not gained
peace and remain on earth to achieve satisfaction. Ghosts are often selfish and have a motive to
hurt people. Spirits are nothing of that sought. Instead spirits can be
mischievous but they mainly guard and exist for good. All spirits are not
ghosts. They provide care and unseen protection.
